Blackout Poetry with Jillian Goldberg

Do you love words and old books? Using random texts from old books or magazines, we select words that resonate for us. These words can be used to create a prose-poem or inspirational message. We then either black out the remaining words, or use doodling to isolate our chosen words. The instructor will supply examples and handouts on simple doodle and “tangle” patterns, as well as stencils students can use for page decoration. Students are encouraged to look at examples of “Blackout Poetry” on Pinterest to spark ideas for their own work.
