Name: Doodle Day: Beginner's Drawing Workshop
Date: July 14, 2018
Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
This workshop is all about developing confidence that you can draw ~ and learning that you can have fun doing so, too. After all, drawing is nothing more than doodling with lines and shapes and learning how light plays across those shapes. Come to “Doodle Day” on Saturday, July 14th, 10:00 – noon at Margaret Lane Gallery to experiment with techniques for seeing as an artist sees and putting those images down on paper. The goals of this experience are (1) to observe with an artist’s eye, (2) to learn the basics of how to draw in pencil, (3) to develop confidence in sketching, and (4) most important of all, to have fun creating in graphite. “Doodle Day” is intended for adults and teens ages 16 and older. Cost for this one-time session is $49. What should you bring? • A set of graphite drawing pencils (which you can obtain from Walmart, Michael’s, or A.C. Moore, for example). Most basic sets provide a range of pencils, from 4H to 8B. • A kneaded eraser • A straight-edge or ruler • Your sense of humor
