Historic Hillsborough Neighborhood Tour

All aboard for the 30th Annual Historic Hillsborough Tour! This year's event features a miniature train ride through Historic Hillsborough's neighborhoods, with stops along the way to enjoy decorated yards and porches, traditional holiday music courtesy of local musicians, living history moments provided by Historic Interpretations, Inc. and Selfies with Santa! The event will be held from 1 - 7 PM and will begin at the Town Hall Campus. Train tickets will be $15.00 in advance and $20.00 the day of, lap children are free! Or enjoy a scenic carriage ride, departing from the Hillsborough Visitors Center, with access to all tour entertainment included.

• Train narrated rides depart from Town Hall Campus every 20 minutes, with stops scattered throughout the downtown, so feel free to hop on and off at your leisure. Here, you can visit with Mrs. Claus and enjoy performances from To The Pointe Dance Academy.
• At the Burwell School, enjoy the Dickens Exhibit and the Hillsborough Garden Club's decorations, along with live performances, including a flautist group and colonial vignettes.
• The Orange County Historical Museum will host the Orange County Schools Holiday Art Exhibit - stop by to vote for your favorite.
• On Tryon and Wake Streets, several of Hillsborough's beautiful historic homes will have their porches and yards decorated for your enjoyment, courtesy of area businesses. Neighbors compete for prizes for their favorite charities.Vote for your favorite on the train, and follow up with an online vote, too. Winners will be announced December 18.
• You'll definitely want to hop off the train at the Masonic Lodge. Here you will find entries for the Gingerbread House Contest and an interactive colonial dance demonstration inside, as well as a colonial food demonstration on the lawn. Hot cocoa, coffee, & cookies will be available for purchase here to support the Kiwanis.
• The Old Courthouse will feature live performances and living history demonstrations throughout the day. Be sure to catch the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Handbell Choir at 4 pm. 
• The tour finishes at the Alexander Dickson House, home of the Hillsborough Visitor's Center, where you can take a "Selfie with Santa". 
• Carriage Rides are available departing from the Visitors Center. Riders will enjoy a neighborhood tour and will have access to all tour entertainment. $20.00/person in advance, $25.00 day of, lap children are free and advance registration strongly encouraged.
• Enjoy listening to roving carolers up and down Churton St. throughout the afternoon
• The Cedar Ridge Chorale Group will get you into the holiday spirit at 3 pm. Check them out at the First Baptist Church on W. King Street.
