Love and Romance: A Poetry Workshop with Pam Baggett

Stores abound with hearts and flowers, Valentine's Day is Hallmark's second biggest holiday, what better time to write into the mushy, gushy territory of romance and it's sometimes elating, sometimes devastating consequences? We'll examine the techniques used in successful poems about first love and second chances, marriage and happiness before turning our attention to love's dark side: death and divorce, break-ups and betrayals, political and religious strictures that allow some to wed but not others. Then through a series of prompts, we'll write about our own love and loss. The workshop is free and open to the public; writers working at all levels and in other genres are welcome.
