Porcelain Jewelry by Mimi Logothetis Opening Reception

Melissa Designer Jewelry is pleased to feature the porcelain jewelry of Mimi Logothetis. Opening artist reception is Friday, June 30th, 2017 from 6 pm – 8 pm. Show continues through July 22nd. Mimi Logothetis is an artist living and working in Cedar Grove, NC. Working primarily in clay, specifically porcelain, she creates both functional and sculptural work for the home and jewelry as wearable art for the body. Porcelain is preferred for its purity, starkness, density, strength and translucency. On the surface of the work, either as an accent, or as an encompassing pattern, as fabric, Mimi uses a proprietary printing technique to apply graphics. Both as images and pattern or texture layers, the wet clay is decorated, to tell stories or wry jokes.
