Event Description:
The Wendy Olson Arboretum Inc. is a local non profit Native Plant and Habitat Restoration Garden on almost 3 acres near downtown Hillsborough. Community Workday event will take place every Saturday and Sunday in September from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at 529 Lakeshore Drive, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
We will be removing invasive plants down by the creek. Please bring water bottles and wear long pants and closed toe shoes if you are sensitive to poison ivy.
Parking is limited in this residential neighborhood so please text or email the event coordinator and register for the event at

About Wendy Olson
Wendy was a landscape architect, Master Gardner, Conservationist and much loved member of this community. She had a hand in planting the seeds that became the Hillsborough Riverwalk. Riverwalk bridge is named The Wendy Olson and Charles Burger Bridge.

If you follow the sewer easement from the Wendy Olson Arboretum it will lead you right to the Riverwalk and Gold Park!
It is our hope that together with the Town of Hillsborough and the community we can connect the two.
